I’m pleased to say that we’ll be attending a number of conferences around the country organised by Unique Boutiques in January – featuring guest speakers from Cavendish, Pictet, Renaissance, SVM and Rathbones. We’ll be at the Harrogate, London and Birmingham events and we’d be delighted to speak to any Novia users and to see anyone interested in learning more about the platform - so do please come along if you can, for what promises to be a highly informative and enjoyable day. KIIDS - an update
Just a note to say a number of funds are already starting to show KIIDs – so there’s some examples to look at now via our Asset Selector.
There’s been a lot of noise about KIIDs (Key Investor Information Documents) recently, so here are a few thoughts to let you know where Novia’s thinking is at present.
Firstly, it’s important to remember that the vast majority of the impact of this will not be felt until July next year when all UCITS funds will need to provide them.
Secondly, there will certainly be an impact as advisers will be required to provide them to investors under new regulations. These new regulations aim to provide succinct and consistent information about investments and a risk indicator, to prospective investors in a simple easy to read format.
We’re making sure that we’re prepared for this change and have already put in place access to KIIDs via our asset selector tool – so that as and when fund managers produce them they will appear in our tools for advisers to select – remembering of course that as existing funds don’t have to produce these before summer next year, the vast majority will not be in place yet. New UCITS funds do though, so as they appear we will make them available for you to access them.
When they arrive, they will be in pdf form so you can print, save or email them as you wish. If you’ve got any questions do feel free to contact us.
A couple of recent events
We were delighted to be involved with a couple of fantastic events over the last couple of weeks. Last Wednesday, Novia and GAM held a breakfast workshop offering some very useful insights on the current market conditions and showcasing the benefits of using a DM via a platform such as Novia. A really good turnout and some fantastic speakers meant this was a really good day and demonstrated how using a DM and the efficiency of an administrative platform such as Novia with its model portfolio functionality can really help to drive an adviser’s business. If you’re interested to know more have a chat with your Regional Sales Manager who can pass you a copy of the presentations and let you know more about this increasingly important subject for advisers.
Yesterday we attended Vanguard’s Investment Symposium in London – another really interesting and useful day – thanks to all who attended and to Vanguard for a very well organised and thought provoking event. Again, it helped to provide a very handy insight on the current markets – and we could all do with some of that at the moment! It highlighted also how far passive investments have come – and how using them through a wrap like Novia offers real opportunities for advisers.
Thanks to all and look forward to seeing some of you at such events in the future!
Five More Accolades for Novia in AdviserAsset’s Platform Awards – Based Only on Adviser Voting
Really delighted to say that Novia have been successful in five of the nine categories in AdviserAsset’s new Platform Awards this year. We’re obviously extremely pleased to be recognised for the service and functionality we deliver, and in such a broad range of areas. This is also more significant as the awards are based solely on adviser scoring from their online tool which is used by some 11,000 registered individuals. It seems that this is one of the most important aspects of such an innovative approach to recognising platform excellence – given that most of us would think, and AdviserAsset themselves agree, that the investment industry hardly lacks awards! There are no panels of experts – just advisers themselves scoring the platforms they use – only this quantitative data is used to decide the winners.
We were successful in the following categories:
Service – Face to face sales support
Service – Transaction Processing
Service – Client Reporting
Service – User Training
Best Fit with IFA tool requirements
We hope that these awards further demonstrate our commitment to delivering excellent service to advisers – using both the best of technology and an experienced team. Delivering high quality service in terms of administration and support is the bread and butter of a platform’s business and has always been our key focus and we will continue to work with our adviser partners to further improve this. We were also pleased to have been recognised for our client reporting and wider tools functionality, which is also one of the key differentiators for Novia – innovative and fully integrated research, portfolio construction and client reporting tools are an extremely important part of our service.
We’re always happy to provide advisers with a demo of the system and how we can provide them with the best possible platform experience – so please feel free to get in touch if this would be of interest.
